A Children’s Celebration of the Lunar New Year

The Singing Winds presents “The Lions and Dragons Dance – a children’s celebration of the Lunar New Year” featuring special guests from the Wan Chi Ming Hung Gar Institute.
2023 is the Year of the Rabbit! Come celebrate the Lunar New Year with Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, Fan Dance, Kung Fu, music, and stories from China. With a special presentation by the Wan Chi Ming Hung Gar Institute, “The Lions and Dragons Dance” will introduce you to the legends and traditional customs associated with this ancient celebration.

The Singing Winds Dancers from PS 230 share the stage with Ballet Nepantla at Casa Cultural’s Dia de Los Muertos celebration in Kensington.
Ballet Nepantla explores the in-between-ness of cultures within the realm of dance, harmonizing contemporary ballet with traditional Mexican folk dance.
