The Singing Winds presents “The Lions and Dragons Dance” featuring the PS 230 Lion Dancers and Puppeteers.
2013 is the Year of the Snake! Come celebrate the Lunar New Year with shadow puppets, Lion Dancing, and stories from China. Narrated by fourth grade students at PS 230, this special evening of folktales and martial arts will introduce you to legends and traditional customs associated with this ancient celebration.
Recommended for all ages!

The Singing Winds: Storytelling from Around the World presents the international folk ensemble Holubka in “КОРОБЕЙНИКИ” (“Peddlers”), an evening of song, dance and folk customs from Russia and the Ukraine. When the peddler visits their village, the girls dream of their wedding. Share their joy as they celebrate Ivana Kupala with dance, music, traditional customs and the shared hope of a happy, bountiful future.

Native American Song and Dance with the Redhawk Dance Troupe
Come experience an evening of Native American Stories told through traditional song and dance. See the creation story of Grass Dance, Fancy Dance and the exciting and acrobatic Hoop Dance by Brooklyn own’s world- traveled Redhawk Dancers.
