About

The Singing Winds is a new storytelling series featuring traditional folklore from the many cultures and the many languages spoken by the people who live in the Kensington neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Hosted by PS 230, the Singing Winds storytelling series features both professional artists and community groups in live performances that bring to life the characters that have entertained and educated children for centuries.

Six events are scheduled for the fall of 2011.  If you are interested in having this program continue in the new year, or have any comments about the events that have already taken place, please let us know.  We welcome your ideas and suggestions.

The Singing Winds is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council, Inc (BAC)
